NOTICE FOR UPCOMING PTA ELECTIONS FOR THE 2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR

Hello PTA Parent/Staff Members:

The PTA Executive Board formally invites you to join the PTA membership on Monday, May 19, 2025 at 5:30pm for the 2025-2026 Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) Elections.

The PTA Members must elect the new (or current) Executive Board Members who will lead the PTA membership for the 2025-2026 school year. As a member of the PTA, your attendance is required in order for our PTA to successfully elect the new Executive Board.

A list of the current board members and nominees running for a position on the PTA Board will be posted on the nomination form. If you would like to run for President, Vice-President, Treasurer or Secretary, please complete the Election Nomination Form located on our school website PGMS566.org.

To register for the elections, visit our school website PGMS566.org and click Register For (May 19th) PTA Elections in the section that says Register For Our Upcoming Events. You may also find the links on Class Dojo.

If you have any concerns or questions pertaining to the elections, please feel free to either 1. Call Parent Coordinator Leader in the main office at (718) 794-9750 ext. 4263, 2. email him at mleader3@schools.nyc.gov, or 3. stop by the main office in room 426 on the 4th floor.

ABSOLUTE LAST DAY TO SUBMIT MONEY FOR PICTURE DAY!!!!

PICTURE DAY IS TOMORROW, APRIL 24, 2025

6th & 7th Grade Parents,

If you have not sent in the money for Picture Day, you may do so by 3pm today. There are only 10 envelope left, so first come, first serve.

Remember, all kids taking individual pictures may "Dress Up" for pictures, or just wear their uniform. No Jeans Please.

Don't miss this opportunity to capture a precious moment in time. If you have any question, you can call me in the office (718) 794-9750.

RE: Picture Day Announcement - April 24 2025

Dear Pelham Gardens Middle School Parents,

The PTA Executive Board and Lifeway Photographers are hosting a Picture Day for all students on Thursday, April 24, 2025. Pictures will be taken individually and by class group. Students were given packets to take home (and this letter) which are to be completed, with payment due by Monday, April 21, 2025.

Please do not permit your child to wear green or green color combinations (as it will negatively affect the photo). Students should be dressed to impress! We look forward to your participation!

"We Need Your Feedback! Every year parents of NYC are asked to complete a School Survey. Our goal is to get 100% of our parent voices heard! Your child should have come home with a paper survey. Please complete and return that survey as soon as possible. If you misplaced your survey, you can complete the survey using this NYCSchoolSurvey.org link. Families can log in use a lower case "f" followed by the student's OSIS (or student ID) number to complete the online survey (ie: f123456789). Surveys are due by March 28th.

PTA "$5.00 Lunch For Student" Fundraiser

Hello Parents and Students of Pelham Gardens Middle School,

The PTA is sponsoring a lunch to raise funds on Friday, March 21st. For only $5.00 students can get chicken tenders, French fries and a can of soda!! If you would like to get a break from the cafeteria food and help raise money for the PTA, complete this form indicating your interest and give your $5.00 to your advisor by Tuesday, March 18th to get that special lunch on Friday the 21st.

NOTICE FOR FIRST PTA MEETING OF 2024-2025 (Dec 6, 2024)
Parent Members/Staff Members of Pelham Gardens Middle School PTA:

Please be aware that the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of Pelham Gardens Middle School will have its first PTA meeting of the 2024-2025 school year on Monday, December 16, 2024 at 5:30pm. The meeting will be held in-person at our school building at 2545 Gunther Avenue Bronx, New York 10469.

As a Parent Member/Staff Member, you are cordially invited to attend this meeting to meet with other PTA members. The newly elected PTA Executive Board will bring some matters to the table to discuss with all members in attendance. Some of these matters include:

The Executive Board introducing themselves to all members

Reviewing the PTA bylaws and current financial state

Discussing fundraising activities for the PTA

Joining committees and volunteering for school events

Sharing ideas for PTA-sponsored events

There will be food and beverages served during the meeting so come prepared to Meet, Greet and Eat!

Parent-Teacher Conference Half-Day

Hello Pelham Gardens Middle School Parents,

Please be aware that tomorrow, November 14, 2024, Pelham Gardens Middle School students will have a half-day for Parent Teacher Conferences. Students will be dismissed at 11:50am. All parents should have received a phone call from their child's advisor to schedule a time between either 12pm and 2pm in the afternoon, or 4:30pm and 7:00pm in the evening, for a one-on-one 5-minute phone conference. If you believe that you have not received a phone call yet, please reach out to your child's advisor through Class Dojo or email.

Eye Doctor Visit

Hello PGMS Families,

Pelham Gardens is excited to announce that we have EyeOnEdu returning to our school so your child can get their vision checked by an eye doctor. If you would like your child to have their vision checked please either fill out the form online, use the QR code, or a paper form should have been sent home on Thursday, October 17, 2024. If you have insurance, it must be placed on the application, however, there is NO cost to you. The eye doctor is scheduled for November 21, 2024. we must have at least 50 student forms submitted for the doctor to visit. If you have any questions, please feel free to email Ms. Lama at Llama@schools.nyc.gov
